A One-day course with optional assessment to obtain ACIArb qualification

What is the aim of the course?
To provide an understanding of the general principles of mediation; a basic understanding of the principles of good practice and procedure and the skills needed to be an effective mediator.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements. The course is intended for candidates who:
Are new to the field of mediation and have not had any legal training;
Wish to learn more about mediation and its benefits to users;
Are considering further study to become an Accredited Mediator;
Wish to become an Associate member of CIArb.
Optional Assessment to obtain ACIArb qualification
The CIArb has 3 levels of qualification – Associate (ACIArb), Member (MCIArb) and Fellow (FCIArb).Attendees at this course can sit an optional written assessment (for a separate fee of £60 + VAT), successful completion of which will entitle you to apply for Associate Membership.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment consists of one assignment that is distributed to candidates on the day of the course. Candidates will be given 28 days to complete and submit the assignment. The pass mark is a clear pass or fail based on understanding and knowledge.Results are dispatched to candidates normally within 8 – 12 weeks of the submission date.

For delegates wishing to book the assessment, please can you now send an e-mail to mthomas@thomassands.co.uk to confirm that you have booked the course and wish to sit the assessment. Mark will already have access to all your registration details and will simply need to provide you with information on how to pay for the assessment. You should receive his follow-up e-mail with 24 hours of sending your e-mail to him.
